nanny adventures

I've been trying to find a new nanny. Boy, what a racket Nanny Referral services are... They want to charge me 2 grand just for using them. Considering I only want someone part time, and even if she was expensive, that'd be more than two months of her salary. Geez. Supposedly, the county child care council does referrals, so I checked that out -- turns out they just refer you to the referral services. Heh. I don't know what go that is supposed to be.

Asking around to friends and the school teacher across the street hasn't turned up any leads. So, I've been going the Craigslist route. It makes me so nervous. It's hard enough to trust some stranger with your kid, trusting one you found on the internet is just a huge leap of faith.

The boy has his 3rd tooth now. After two nights of waking every 20 minutes screaming, the damn thing finally cut through. Now its partner is about a week away. Sigh. Someday, I'll get sleep again. I hope... at least he's still on three naps a day. I can usually jump on one of those. Who knew a body could run on an hour and a half of sleep. I feel more awake most days than I did pre-baby. I guess if you just HAVE to be awake and alert, the body responds. Unless I start thinging about sleep, and them POW it hits me and I get sooooo tired. Like right now... heh...
