long time, no post Wow. It's been a long time since I posted anything. The boy is keeping my amazingly busy. He's now got two teeth, crawls like there's no tomorrow, pulls up on everything, has a schedule, eats everything I offer him -- eats things I don't offer him :) -- enjoyed his first trip in the ski boat but slept most of the time, swims in the bathtub, and signs occasionally. He's usually got a permanent smile and loves...LOVES...to socialize. The kid is in no danger of becoming an internet introvert. Now the TV on the other hand, it could be a problem. Heh. The boy loves the remote. If there's one in sight, there's no way to get his attention until he has it in hand. I pity his wife already :) We've got two playgroups, which is as much for the kids as for the adults, I think. One is super crunchy, and one is not crunchy at all. In between them I get some sort of balance. I'm trying to find a nanny so I can get the diss done. I've got a year to do it, and I'm hoping it's done well before then. I don't think I've ever had anything that's been as much of a thorn in my side as this project. And we finally got a new car. And how's this for timing -- my folks had my car this weekend, since I'd borrowed theirs to go to an event. We decided to go look at SUVs/wagons on Sunday, so that I could stop needing to borrow my folks'. We didn't intend to buy straight away, but many hours later we came home with a 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L. Before I could even call my folks to tell them the news, I got a call from them nervously informing me that my Saturn had gone to car heaven -- the electrical short-circuited apparently. That car served me well. In 10 years, I never had a single problem with it. I guess it didn't want another owner and knew it's time had come, so it went out with a bang. Fortunately, my folks weren't far from home when it happened. Speaking of the event... ok, so I'm trying to start thinking of myself as a Westerner instead of an Atlantian. It's hard though, since things are very different here, and I think I've been to more Atlantian events since I moved out here than I have Western ones. I'm sure I'll make the transition eventually though. In the meantime, I ignored more courts this Saturday than I've ignored all put together over 17 years! That is to say, there were A LOT of courts held Saturday and I was occupied with Ryan during all of them. |
