Happy New Year
2006-01-01 - 12:37 p.m.

It was a different kind of New Year's for me. I spent the day with my feet up, trying to get the swelling to go down. I really should photograph my feet, but I know my sausages would scare people. They literally look like they could bust open, as the skin is so stretched there are little pull marks all over it. No being barefoot and preggers in the kitchen for me that day. Instead, Bob did all the cooking. Woo woo!

He made a yummy cheesey, pine-nutty, pesto and sun-dried tomato appetizer and served up it up with some sparkling apple cider. Then followed that with an Italian stew with tortellini and sausage (not to harken back to my feet... heh). Dang, it was good. The boy can cook (or as he modestly says, "yes, I know how to follow directions...") The meal concluded with a booze-free punch to ring in the new year. All in all, a most excellent and wonderful anniversary celebration and I even managed to stay awake until the ball dropped.

Speaking of the ball drop... Dick Clark made me a little teary-eyed when he was having a hard time with the countdown. Bless his heart.

Happy New Year, people!
